I put my hands in clay for the first time digging in a stream behind my childhood home. With it, I crafted a small statue and left it on the porch. Of course, it melted in the next strong rain. During my time at HACC in the 80s, Pottery I and II seemed obvious choices as art electives, and I fell in love with dirt all over again.
